American Cliche #115 [39:48m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

This week I thought I’d mix it up a bit. The event I covered last week for the SBIFF was so good, I had to share the unedited audio with you. It is an interview with writer/director Paul Haggis talking about his new film “In the Valley of Elah” and the situation over in Iraq.

I’ll be back to the usual format next week.

Brian and I will be at the Podcast and New Media Expo in Ontario, CA from Wednesday the 27th until Sunday the 30th. If you’d like to meetup, send me an email at TheAmericanCliche (at) gmail.com and we’ll try and make it happen. Look for updates on Twitter.

I just want to say WOW! As Americans we need to question more because more. I am reading a book now that the author had a talk with a worker on the site where the twin towers collapsed, he talked about how the nation rallied together and he hoped that the nation would stay one big community. What happened it been six years and we could not be more divided, what went wrong? We are still one nation under God if i am not mistaken. We need to rally again but this time behind our troops and become one community. I don’t want something like 9/11 to happen again for us to become one big community. Great show Scott! Like always you make us think!

    THANK YOU!

Scott, thank you for playing this interview. I think I had heard of the film before but didn’t know anything about it. I am blown away by hearing Paul Haggis talk about the film. I have to see this film and I will try to get everyone I know to see it too.

As a former Marine I was very happy to hear about the Marine who stood up and defended the film and the flag.

    Once again, thank you Scott.
