Mailed-by: podshow.com
podshow.com got HACKED by yeknom!
Their homepage looks fine. I checked our show files on their servers and they appear OK. So it appears as maybe there is some sort of email virus? All you hackers out there, what do you think this means?

I got the same message, I am guessing that they broke into the database and are just sending the e-mails as confirmation that they were successful. I haven’t seen anything on the podshow site to address it, I hope they do soon. It’s a little unsettling.

Adam Curry confirmed via Twitter that their e-mail database was indeed compromised. He’s promising updates. Presumably something will show up on the PodShow site eventually.
Blogged this, too, including Curry’s note and other commentary:

Question is, have the email addresses been compromised? I wouldn’t be surprised to find the hacker sold all our email addresses. Shame.

Kevin,
That is a good point. I would hope that PodShow would alert us to that breach. So far they have been fairly tight-lipped. They acknowldged it happened and that they had it under control, but I don’t know any more than that.
