American Cliche #99.5 - A Look Back…

American Cliche #99.5 - A Look Back... [38:02m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

I toyed with the idea of doing a “best of” show. Then I listened back to the very first episode. I was struck with how much it had changed, but how much it was still the same. I was clearly trying to figure out podcasting and how it would juxtapose with the radio streaming that Brian and I were doing. I think it is an interesting listen that, until now, hadn’t been available for the last 18 months.

I intro it, and Jason and Brian take a look back in their own segments. Join us as we take a look back on the first 2 years of American Cliche.

Tune in starting June 5th at 7:00 PM PT for the release of episode 100!

    Hey Scott,

Wow, that was a flash back! The first episode compared to episode 99 are totally different. Two questions for you: what ever happened to eight ball radio that you religiously mentioned in the first episode and what ever happened to mercury sol? Just curious because I don’t think you ever mentioned mercury sol since I’ve been listening to the show. For the last year I’ve been listening to American Cliche and the ride has been extraordinary; from AC daily to ACTV. Even though AC daily was a flop all your loyal fans have stuck by you. Also, your loyal fans stuck by and gave loads of support when Mia the wonder dog got sick. As I look back I’ve got a lot of great memories with American Cliche and looking forward to 100 more

    Congratulations on your success,

    Keep up the Great Work!!

8BallRadio went away because it was costing us more money than it was bringing in. We ran it in the red for 5 years. Finally, after an equipment failure, we decided to call it quits.

Mercury Sol, is my alter ego. I put out two electronic albums under that name. You can still get them on CD Baby. Maybe someday I’ll record another. There’s just not enough time in the day to do all the porjects i want to do. :)

was that kim who intro’d the first show?

hmm…know what would be cool? if somehow you got more listener participation. i know that the listener rants and the comments are often lacking, but what about some kind of contest where the winner gets a mercury sol cd? or maybe this is just a ploy to get free music. do you sell wholesale? loyal fans should get a discount.

looking forward to the 100th. keep it up!

It was Kim that intro’d the first show. She’s got a great voice doesn’t she? :)

I get lots of listener participation – lately about 75 – 100 emails per week. I get 3-4 phone messages too. While I love getting them ALL, 99% are really fitting for use on the show. Most people want to write or call and say “hey, I love the show,” which is awesome, but would get old airing week after week.

I actually have a box of MercSol CDs in my garage. I would be happy to give them away, but honestly it would be too much work to ship them out each week. I HATE the post office, and I know I’d fall behind.

    Hey Scott,

Mercury Sol is great, shame about the CD’s, I’d snap one up, but I totally understand. Love the show, been listening since around the 50 mark and really think it’s great. I live in Switzerland so I love my english language podcast’s. Yours is by far amongst the creme de la creme,

    Looking forward to Episode 100!!
