American Cliche #96
Today was the first day of my new job. I think it’s going to be great, but my mind is overloaded with details. I am also still trying to find my bearings after being at Coachella in 105 degree weather for three days. Enjoy my rambling.

Hey Scott! I love your show.. I’ve listened to every episode that you have posted on the site. I’m always waiting in anticipation for your new show to come out on Tuesday nights! I work a graveyard shift and your program definitely keeps me awake and gets me thinking.
Anyways, about Internet Radio.. it would be horrible if great shows were taken off the air because of greedy people who want more and more money. I think you are correct when you said they want to get rid of Internet radio all together because they do not have the same amount of control over net radio as they do with brick and mortar stations. I post on several Internet forums and plan on starting discussions about this situation by telling everybody to check out http://www.savenetradio.com. I’ve also passed the link around the office. Hopefully we can make a difference.
Well, I should get back to work. I hope you, Kim and Mia the Wonder Dog are doing well!

hey scott, how’s it going? I really like the idea of a LIVE American Cliché! Would be wicked. Maybe you could have the show not just as audio, but also as American Cliché TV. That would be good. I understand it’s more hassle and work, but your the boss.!
I don’t really have any great ideas for the 100th show, but would look forward to an extended cliché! 1hr of pure craziness
Anyway, love the show. Hope you and the Parent household are all well. – Laters –

i was going to say that a live version of your 100th would be sweet (and it would)...
but i think nick’s got the right idea with the ACTV.
DO IT
!!

Hey Scott,
I think the idea of live shows is great. My favorite internet shows are basically a bunch of friends sitting around, drinking beer, and chatting about random stuff (check out http://www.Radiotiki.com or http://www.Britpod.com for good examples). I don’t know if the format would work very well for ACTV…too formal and too much work. Chatrooms and call ins are always good for encouraging listener interaction. Good stuff. Keep it up.

Hi Scott,
I have no idea what I can do to help saving the internet radio since I haven’t done any research on the topic yet, but I’ll try to find out and do something, too. I just got used to being able to listen to radio from all over the world and I wouldn’t want to miss it!
I also just LOVE the idea of a LIVE show…
I’ll be there – hope you’re too
I’m looking forward to the next show – thanks for investing your time!

Hi Scott!
I’ve not been listening to your show very long, but I already love it.
And – even though I probably won’t be able to hear it live – I think the idea of the 100th show being live, is great.
I really like the Mighty Minute and One Man’s Opinion.
It’s really funny and it has my kind of humour.
And I also wanted to let you know that you’ve also got some fans in The Netherlands.

Seems like everyone is digging the live show idea. Brian, Jason, and I will have to test and make sure we can pull it off technically. As for the ACTV idea… That may be tougher…

Hey Scott,
Love the show. Always fun and interesting. Sorry to post this here but it was the quickest way. Just a nomination of dirtbag of the week. Classless act by someone who has a lot of power. Maybe you have heard about it but here’s the link. Keep fighting the good fight.

That listener rant, the guy who sent it in is from the same town as me. SLO town represent! And this whole Internet-streaming royalty thing is ridiculous Just another example of how big media is trying to maintain control and squash independent channels.
