I was born in '82. Back then things were nicer. Maybe not in reality, but I didnt know any better, I was a little kid! Anyway, great show Scott! I'm new to things seeing as I picked this up at work looking for talk news radio and came across your site. I think I came in around episode 70-something. Whatever the case, keep the interesting stuff coming! And for the record, I'm a Scott fan as well as a Jason and Brian fan. I dont know how your wives feel about that (please dont send them to beat me!!), but you know what I mean.

Alright, well I'm only going to comment on this once. Basically, every week I put myself in the shoes of our listeners. When I found this podcast over a year ago, I tuned in to be entertained. That's what I try to accomplish every week. Every day we're pelted with the UGLY and HEAVY topics of the real world. So excuse me all to hell if I myself am a little tired of that and want to lighten it up a little...hence the so-called “petty” topics. God knows, there's plenty of unhappiness in the world without me shooting my mouth off about and creating a little more—THAT'S how you piss people off! John I value your opinion as much as anyone's but it seems your beef with me is not my content, it's my delivery. I can't and won't apologize for being myself...that's all any of us can do anywhere in life. As for being a 'spoiled brat' I can't speak to that either, other than saying I've worked my ass off for every little thing I've gotten in this world. I think that's extremely prejudicial to say simply based on the timbre of someone's voice. You say that you have been annoyed by 'nearly every segment.' However you go on to say later that you 'normally agree with me most of the time.” I don't understand and don't care to. The point is we all have an opinion, I'm just lucky enough to have an awesome forum created by our friend Scott. John has an opinion too and that's fine...his wasn't very funny. :P But I don't want to ever wear out anyone's fast forward button so if EVER you guys want me to stop doing segments, you just let me know and I'm gone. I do this because I love it, not because I have to...trust me I have enough going on. Until then, I'll be here with my fart jokes, petty topics, bratty-bitchy whiny voice...keepin it real, but keepin it light...

I'm Out.
-J

p.s. Thanks to Scott, Brian, and Melissa for everything...(great segment this week Brian).
p.p.s. Quit jamming up the comment section with this stuff...if you want to talk to me drop me a line at opionated.jason@gmail.com

The whole concept of a purity ball kind of freaks me out. I mean what ever happened to common sense in parenting. Sit down talk to your child about the dangers in the outside world. Let's take for example that Joe S. he is a danger to society and we need to teach our children to stay away from guys like him. This whole purity ball is a joke because let's say some girl comes across a guy like Joe S. but lets say younger and some girl gets date rapped or worse and because she took some vow when she was nine. She will probably blame herself and tell no one because she is ashamed. How wrong is that? We need to educate! We need as a society to get the word out about date rap drugs and we need a more honest approach to sex education. As a society we are becoming lazy, example look at our education system. The rest of the world is becoming smarter than us! In conclusion, as a society we need to become more away and we need to be straight to the point and say what we mean. Protect our children at all costs by educating them not by throwing a dumb party! Where have all the common sense gone!!

This whole "Purity Ball" shit is just disturbing. To me it almost was the same thing as a father/daughter marriage, just a little gross. There is nothing wrong with preaching about waiting until marriage, but at the same time show a little common sense and teach the kids what they need to know. I would rather have teenagers know and understand the realities and potential risks that come with sex, but it is also extremely important to make sure they're prepared when they make their own choices. But then again what do I know, I managed to avoid having kids because I pull out. ;)

Johnny - I agree the word "conservative" has unfortunately come to often refer to religious zealot, more than anything else. That's a shame. I have no problem with conservatives...I have a problem with intolerant freaks.

Jim - good point. Again, I have no problem with teaching your kids abstinence. I do believe though that we need to give kids all the tools they need so if they do decide to have sex, they can be safe and smart about it.

John - it takes a big person to come on and apologize. For me it's water under the bridge. Thanks for listening.

Sylvetta - what happened in 1982? :)

I can't help but wonder how many women Joe S. drugged/poisoned. You think he had low self esteem and thought that was the only way to get a girl? Nah, he's just a predator. How horrible. You can't even trust nice guys anymore. The world has changed since '82.

I totally understand what you said and I completely understand that I was in the wrong for making such harsh comments. I would like to end this whole thing by apologizing (As if I hadn't already done that enough, lol) to the show, listeners, and especially Jason.

Anyway, great show this week. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks!

by definition, the average IQ is (and has to be) 100. now you know!

i'm a big proponent of abstinence until marriage, but i agree with pretty much everything you said about the purity balls. they are kind of scary and give normal conservatives like me a bad rap.

we need more call-in listener rants. i may fix that.

*starts looking for something to rant about*

Actually, allow me to elaborate.
I am Conservative.
According to last.fm, I've listen to "Scott Parent" 53 times, so that is roughly 53 episodes of this show, and I love the content.
I have no religious beliefs ever, just preserving our Constitution and what not, so it's always easy to laugh at the majority of conservatives who are strictly motivated by religion.
Of course, sometimes I'd get a little angered, but I have always kept quiet, but sometimes these zealots give all conservatives some insane Bible kissing reputation.
I think this has been long enough.
