    Scott-
Thanks for adding the daily content. I know it has only been a couple of days, but I love it already. If anyone is on the fence and isn’t sure if they should sign up, trust me, it is worth it.

For only the cost of a cup of coffee…....

    Scott,

For some reason I stumbled on to your show; I listen every week and enjoy it.
You had mentioned an incident which had an eerily familiar ring because that happened to me in Minneapolis. Four years ago up until last year when I sold my business I had a small start up landscaping company with 3 employees. On the bumper on both my truck’s I had “god guts and guns made america great” and “Bush/Cheney” stickers (a large portion of people who hire a lawn service are republicans as am I)
My former 40 year old manager, a greenpeace activist who’s had/has “Bush lied” “war is not the answer” and no “blood for oil” stickers on his car I dismissed because of an anger management problem. He would always seem to cop an attitude whenever he had to take one of my vehicles because he would say things like “I wouldn’t be caught dead in anything advocating Bush or fucking Republicans” I reminded him he could quit but that wasn’t an option because I paid him more than anyone else even could or even would; ironically he was once arrested at a peace rally for disorderly conduct. I supposed by now you can guess where this is going – he got into an accident with MY vehicle and still went off threatening to “fuck their ass up” in front of his children – although no charges were filed it was embarrassing. By the way my remaining landscapers were/are Mexican republicans and very hardworking, they bought my company I am still friends with them to this day.
You also mentioned a line from a movie as to why americans love america and hate americans and to your credit there was no left or right affiliation to your statement but I presume you mean the angry conservative republican as much as, like my former employee, the hostile peace activist and that’s a good question. Advocating nothing let me ask you this: Why do left wing liberals love Christ and hate Christians?

    Hi Dan,

This should have probably been posted under show #68, but I’ll respond here anyway.

I appreciate your anecdote, but I get the sense you were somehow trying to insinuate that the person I saw screaming could have been a liberal driving a republican business owner’s truck. Is that the case? I think those odds are quite low. First off, I wouldn’t work for a business that REQUIRED me to drive a vehicle with ANY political affialiation attached to it in the form of a bumper sticker or magnet. My office a has a strict “no politics or religion” policy and I think that’s great. People shouldn’t have to deal with a boss that has a “it’s my way or the highway” policy on religion or politics at work (unless of course you work for a political campaign or a church).

As for why liberals claim to love Christ but can’t stand Christians? Who ever stated that theory? The liberal platform is not based in any way on religion… sounds a bit reaching to me.

I have lots more to say about this and will comment more on today’s American Cliche Daily. Still time to sign up! :)

    Thanks again for your comment.

I’m so busy here in the UK and I find being able to listen to you properly of an evening when sitting at my desk working is ideal for me. You seem to have an amazing/perfect life and I love to hear about it. Keep up the fantastic work!! Good health to you and your family.

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your post. I wouldn’t say my life is perfect, but I do feel blessed for what I have.

If you want to sign up for a year of the American Cliche service, there are two ways. First way is to have $5 per month automatically deducted from your paypal account. You click on that button here:

The next option would be to pay for a year upfront. To do that, simply login to Paypal and send $60 to: theamericancliche at gmail.com. Once I get that I will setup your account with access for a full year.

    Thanks!

    Hey Scott –

I appreciate you getting back to me. I don’t know your politics and don’t want to and it’s for that reason I’ll make a monetary contribution.
You’re an intelligent, rational person and I think you’ve unwittingly touched on an important social phenomenon. What I said was intended to be more thought provoking than anecdotal. I am an atheist (who believes god, guns and guts did make america great) so I have no dog in this fight and I’m not expecting an email but would like to hear you comment.
And that is just what you stated ‘Why do americans hate americans?’
You’re right, what I did was and is wrong and I no longer tout my beliefs in any way but even when I did it was never indentured servitude. After all “my way or the highway” isn’t all bad; at least you have the freedom to “hit” the highway. I have a hunch the driver of what you witnessed was/is indeed the owner and a conservative right-winged republican AND a fucking jerk; none of which are mutually exclusive. I’m also willing to concede the odds of that person being a liberal are low but it has been 100 percent of my experience and on the flip side my hispanic colleague-turned-owner hired college aged Caucasians and owns 4 trucks all with advertising but is universally regarded as an employee.
Speaking in generalities I still do believe most liberals hate right-winged christian conservatives, they fear them as being fundamentally evil but if that is the case how come in most instances conservatives don’t hate Christians? This is somewhat rhetorical because you don’t feel the same way I do but I imagine many in your audience will.

    Dan

  9. Anger Management Entertainment Show Says:

    Psychotherapy Anger Management…

When we are angry, we often find a way to deal with the stress that anger brings. Some of us however cannot find a way to deal with our anger. A faithful strategy I used to deal with anger is to handle the situation when the opportunity arises. If some…
