Outsourcing is not an unethical practice; in fact, american corporations have been using cheaper resources to produce goods and services for years. How many American childrens’ toys have “Made in China” written on the bottom? What about american automotive corporations assembling their cars overseas, where it’s less money for them to spend to maintain the facilities, machinery, and those who supervise. This country’s economy is so good because of principles like outsourcing. If corporations weren’t allowed to outsource in countries with a generally lower economy rate; in other words, if they had to use American laborers to do the same work, they would be required to pay more.
If you’ve just lost your job and they outsourced it to China or some other country, it’s understandable that you’d be upset, I mean spending so much of your time, talents and energy to help the company reach its financial goals, then they just brush you off like a fly on their shoulder, that seems unfair. But it’s not like we live in a third world country, where only 1/4 of the population have successful, steady careers. We live in a country with one of the most prominent and successful capitalistic economies in the world, I’m sure you’ll find another job.

I love listening to your show, even though I consider myself more right wing. It gives me a new perspective on how everyone thinks, and I love your stupid news articles, makes me laugh ever show. My only problem was reminded to me against his episode when he mentioned Bush’s approval rating. Now you’re right, it is amazingly low, and I don’t agree with probably 90% of what he does yet I look at in another way then saying how bad he is and making other people think the same, I go with the outlook that he was elected and we should support him. Plus, you were talking about how he is not doing what the American people voted him in to do. I would bet my shorts that you did not vote for Bush, so why are you complaining about him not doing exactly what you want? I find it very interesting indeed. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but don’t you think it may be time to show the president who you want to change his ways a little more support? If a professor was to give me a 0 on a assignment because he didn’t agree with my options or I did things wrong and he didn’t tell me what I did or how to fix it I wouldn’t know what to do. Maybe one show you can stay away from calling him mentally deficient, in context of course (I’m glad that you stay away from actually going outright and saying something so offensive) and say something good he did this week, or if you feel he did nothing good, the month. Still nothing the year and if you still say nothing, I am sorry but I would have to call you a lair. Keep the shows coming though, just can’t get enough.
Sorry its kind of Choppy, my first comment on basically anything.

Kyle,
Thanks for taking the time to post. While I respect your opinion, I disagree. I think this whole “he is our president and we should support him” mentality is exactly what’s wrong with the country right now. I believe we have a duty as responsible citizens to challenge and question our government leaders. Once a person is elected into office they don’t get to do what they want regardless of what the American people think. Otherwise we’re basically a dictatorship. As for Bush being “elected” into office, let’s face it, even if you take the election at face value he won by a very small margin. Now if you’re like me and you think there were instances of voter tampering then his “election” becomes even more suspect. That is a moot point, he is our president for the next 2 years and we’re stuck with that. However, my major issue is that he seems to think he can do whatever he wants. There are no checks and balances in the system. Most of what I see him announce in regards to his “war on terror” by most legal accounts is illegal (i.e. wiretapping, secret prisons etc), yet we seem to roll over and take it. That is NOT ok with me.
Kyle, if I feel that Bush does something well, I would indeed say it. I just honestly haven’t heard him do anything worthwhile to my recollection of his entire term as president. I will grant you though that Bush bashing each week would get old, so I intend to spread those special moments out a few weeks between shows.
Thanks again for your comment. Oh, and thanks Gabe for your take on Outsourcing.

I really enjoyed your broadcast except for the discussion about Bush. I think the guy is a major screwup in a lot of areas, but a couple of comments made were really stupid. Like why do methods being exposed cause an issue? In the same way that people train for potential tear gas encounter, terroist “training camps” (yeah, that why the word “training” is there) train their peaceniks in the broad set of issues they will encounter as terrorists—bomb-making, preparation for how to handle 72 virgin, experience and technique for resiting interrogation, etc. Maintain your credibility by reading up on your topics. Bush could be taken to task (as could FDR and other presidents) but you blew your attack with stupid comments that sound like you learned everything you know from reading a manual on PONG.

Really? Does the Pong Manual have much info about Bush? Hmmm…
September 17th, 2006 at 3:39 am
Hey scott again,
I was actually amazed that you commented back, didn’t know that you did. Yeah no that i think about it the he is our president does sound a little to sumissive and as an american public we do have a right to question the people in power and it is our job to. Also i’m happy that your gonna space it out a little more too. Maybe you could bash soem things that people from both parties do, that would be cool. Like how we’re rebuilding NO on the same flood plain it was on before, flawed logic maybe? I can see people wanting to have there homes back but it just seems wrong to take money from the taxpayers of the whole of the US to pay for a city that will be dystroyed again next time a huge hurricane comes through. And then we can complain that out of the 1 blinnion dollars promised to us that only 52% has been approved so far and pin it on bush. HE admits that he was slow on hurricane katrina and is taking responsiblity but lets not forget that he does not control congress and can’t get the money there any faster. Maybe if more of the population understood how polotics work maybe they wouldn’t blame him for everything.
Personally the thing that I hate most about bush is the no child left nehind act. Being in school it makes me cringe to hear about it. It maybe help kids who have very low test scores but if anything it makes it harder for schools to teach. Every year, in my city atleast, we get a few more million dollars in funding but we have t cut teachers and other school district postions because that money is being put into busses for kids to be moved to difeerent schools because their parents feel that the teachers aren’t doing a good enough job at the failing school. While the actual problem is that the kids have no want to learn and are going to fail at the next passing school they go to. Maybe instead of making it harder for school distrcts to opperate they could do domething to motivate kids more.
And yeah a ping manual has everything in it. Thats where I learned to walk. I’m just being sarcastic by the way. Have a goody and keep the shows coming. Thanks for spreading the bashing out, be still my heart.

Pong, sorry I called it a ping manual for some strange reason, way before my time.

Hey Scott!!
I Just wanted to say…I Love your show!!
I just want to thank you because American Cliche became one of my favorite radio show ever!
Every week…I just HAVE TO listen yr show: I just can’t help myself!!
Let me just tell you..I’m french….from Paris(but now i’m living in Montreal because of school)....I’m 20 yrs old…..So now you know people are listenning to you all over the world!!
Actually I first started to listen to your show because of its name…American Cliche:
...when I saw it, I thought..”yeah…maybe that could be something different…original..maybe something about the way Americans think for Real”...by real I mean something different from all the things we see and read in the medias such as TV…newspapers..
I just wanted to hear people telling the truth about what they really think about their so called “president”..his actions..about War in Irak…about politics…law and everything..: Actually just Americans who do not think like Bush and who are not afraid to tell it!!
This is my first post here but I really wanted to comment about what you said on Bush and this “I do what I want” rhetoric thing!
I totally agree with you on that…I also watched the video when Bush was so umbarrassed he just couldn’t answer the question about secret prisons…prisonners…etc
All he was able to say was just like he’s always said since 9/11….”we’re at war against terrorism”...My job is to protect American people”...blablabla
I just HATE the way he’s always using the terrorism & 9/11 attacks just in order to scare people and make them afraid about anything!!
When he has to answer about the military actions…War in Irak..what does he do???
!..: he’s using Fear!!Always fear…!
You were right when you were saying that he wants people to think about terrorism and attacks everytime..like if somebody could come and kill your family..!!
I Just don’t understand how this man can be the president of the United States and say this sort of thing…and actually I just don’t understand how people can trust and vote for this dumb guy after all the problems he created and all the things he’s done!!
BUT thanks…all americans aren’t just like Bush!!...
There’s also A LOT of people who doesn’t think the same and who are not sharing the same stupid toughts about politic…actions..people…
I just hope what I said won’t hurt anybody…I really didn’t mean to be rude just critical about Bush…not american people!!
I really love this country and sometimes I really wish I could live over there soon…but not as long as someone like Bush will be president!!
Keep it up Scott!! You’re great!
xxx

make money online…
It also got me to wondering what it is that people get from these things. Do people really draw motivation from this stuff? I have been reading Darren Brown’ s Tricks of the Mind , or at least re- reading sections of it, this week. He points out that…
