American Cliche - #56
This week is the big debut on Sirius satellite’s regular PodShow rotation. I had rough day leading up to it, a brush with the law, and some technical problems initially, but I think depsite all that the show turned out OK.
Here’s the 411 Yo:
- Fake Doctor Held in Liposuction Death
- One Man’s Opinion
- Republicans and Minimum Wage
- Dirtbag of the Week: Bill Heard Chevrolet
- Mighty Minute

Hey Scott,
I just recently found your show on my itunes and i really enjoy listening to your commentary on various subjects. I was listening to one show where you start off by talking about being pulled over for your “illegal” tint. My car had also come with the windows already tinted, but here’s the story anyway.
I live in L.A. and i got pulled over once for going over a double yellow line to get into a left turn pocket. The cop saw the tint on my windows and said i could choose to pay the moving violation or have the window tint removed. Needless to say, removing the tint was much more inexspensive.
I dont think they can pull you over for an illegal tint. I always thought that that sort of thing was just an add on.

dude, Amen. we need to up the minimum wage. here’s the sick part, Kansas has a lower minimum wage where the federal one doesn’t apply. fuck capitalism, cuz this is what is does. I went to a big anti-bush rally in St. Louis when he met with Jim Talent, whose running for senate, or something. anyways, there were 600 people there, a mojority of which were from Jobs With Justice demanding a minimum wage increase. Talent did the same shit as congress with his pay increases and voting againt the minimum wage increase. When will we learn that the poor will only put up with this kinda of bullshit for so long until they revolt. I know I sound like some wild communist ranting againt the government, which is in someways true, but if adjusted for inflation, the current minimum wage is about half of what it was in 1968. it hasn’t been this low since the late 1940’s. It makes me sick, and it should make you ill as well. here are the references to back this all up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._state_minimum_wages

think about it. LGad to hear someone bring it up. Take it easy man,

The stupid assed weather commentary was unfunny and thickheaded enough without the shit-headed dig at the homeless, but that helped the whole show reach its nadir. It’s a shame, since it started off so well, outlining how much water you drink, taking us into the scintillating story of how you came to put your underwear on backwards! Pulled over by a cop
Too much!!
You are not Howard Stern, who could and does make great radio from the lemons he’s given.

Oh Steve, you little ball of sunshine, you make me smile.
What makes you think I have any desire to be Stern?

I may be many things, but I’m no stupid ass…what’s nadir mean anyway? Steve, I completely respect your opinion. You don’t sound like our regular listener, they’re usually a little more well spoken. Anyway it sounds like this is the first time you heard the show so I’d consider youself fortunate that now you know you never have to listen again. You’re free to return to Uncle Howard. By the way didn’t he have a mentally retarded person on there with him to make fun of for years? Yeah, I could see how you can like someone like that, and get offended by what I said. And one more thing, all this talk about lemons is making me thirsty! So there.

Hi there, I’m a Finn and listening to your show through the Internet (obviously). I find it funny and refreshing, but it pisses me to hear that you’re sponsored by Shell. So here’s a dilemma: should I boycott a radio show broadcasted somewhere over the Atlantic just to have zero tolerance on Shell, or just close my ears with my index fingers and hum vigorously when you say “This show is sponsored by Shell Gasoline”?
Well, anyway. Keep the good thing going.
