American Cliche - #51

American Cliche #51: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

To use an old and tired cliche – life is an emotional rollercoaster – and this week things swung pretty low. I realize that I am more fortunate than 99% of the people in the world in terms of health, job, money, medial care, family etc., so I really have no right to be bitching at all. However, we all have things that are so important to us and they just don’t go your way. This has been one of those weeks for me. Oh well…cry me a river…I am determined to pry myself out of the pity party and do a good show:

  • Solstice Recap
  • Man Sues for Penile Impant Malfunction
  • Dirtbag of the Week: Boy George
  • The Plight of the Baggy Pants
  • Earthlink Ad Challenge: Make Advertising Better!
  • Woman Gets Dead Body Stuck Under her Car
  • Biscuit Dunker Invented
  • Listener Rant of the Week: Lynn M.
  • Caitlyn Smith – Hear Me

What kind of job are you looking for?

Sooo..i’m thinking here..not very well since i have vacation head, however, if god made adam and eve that’s why guys aren’t walking around pregnant, then….women who aren’t able to conceive shouldn’t get married. not all woman have the ability to give birth due to medical issues, birth defects and such. Your stance is a moral issue and i respect it. However, the point i’ve tried to make a few weeks ago was that if government was church and state to be seperated, they can’t make laws around moral decisions, plain and simple. You can take God out of everything in our country then say God made it this way and that’s the way it should be, its very hippocritical. The bible says to not do alot of things….are you following it word by word or just picking and choosing at what’s convenient?
I agree with Scott that you don’t have to understand why gay people are attracted to who they are attracted to, why are you attracted to who you are with or have been with. You don’t have to defend that to anyone why should they? you love who you love. I wish i believed it was that cut and dry because if it were we wouldn’t be having this problem in the world right now.

and i’m not really sure which beach you frequent, but i don’t see many naked asses strolling by.

Scott, nice show this week. Boy George needs to get a life. Seems as though you have been on a theme recently of featuring has been celebrities. Last week it was Screech and now Boy George. Did you mention Mr. T a few episodes back too, if not you should, lol.

Here’s an interesting article from Shanghai on Watermelons

And wow I have trouble fathoming that we are in the year 2006 and people like Cathyln Smith still exist. I guess I’m sheltered, I don’t really pay attention to mainstream media and I live in my own little liberalized world.

The penis implant story was funny as shit!

Hey just wanted to say that I think the same thing that Eric said in his email. Keep on chugging!

Thanks for your show and logical yet ‘human’ response to Lynn M’s views on homosexuality. Just because someone doesn’t understand something doesn’t mean it is wrong.

  7. Sarah B Says:

Thank you SO much on ratting out on Lynn M’s views on basically everything! I just don’t understand people like her. i think people should have a right to choose what they want to do instead of other people desiding for them. your show is Awesome!! keep it up!!
