I Hear What Yer Sayin’

8Ball
I wanted to check-in before the weekend as I have a few things I wanted to share with y’all.

First, happy birthday to our very own Brian of Mighty Minute fame. Like a dumb-shit, I kept thinking today was the 8th and when I realized it was actually June 9th, I felt like a bit of an ass as I had been going back and forth with him today via email and never wished him a happy birthday. Sorry buddy.

Second, I have been getting lots of responses from you about whether or not I should make the show longer and add more music to it. So far you all seem to be saying the same thing – you want the show to be longer, but you don’t really want more music. Keep sending in the feedback though so I can be sure. As a result, I came up with a solution that I hope will satisfy everyone. My plan right now is to try and make the show a bit longer with some added content…maybe 35 to 40 minutes. Additionally, instead of adding more music, I am going to do away with the song at the end and instead start a whole new show on its own feed and website. Some of you may remember the 8BallRadio Rewind idea I toyed with six months back. My plan at the time was to do a monthly music show for 30 minutes and throw it into the feed. For a variety of reasons, I didn’t stick with it. Now that I am settled and AC is rolling along, I am poised to give it a try on a weekly basis. The show will be available at www.8ballradio.com and will be a 60 minute music show done weekly. Those of you that dig the music you’ve been hearing on AC will like it. Those that don’t, don’t have to listen to it.

Rest assured, American Cliché, will remain my top priority. I know which side my bread is buttered on, and I don’t want to do anything to upset that applecart. However, lately I have been really wanting to get back to my music roots and do a fun mindless music show. I expect the Rewind will scratch that itch.

I guess I should get going. Kim and I have to swing by the house, pack some clothes, and pickup a very excited Mia-the-Wonder-Dog for a trip to San Luis Obispo (SLO to all of you in da’ know). We’re gonna go out with Kim’s sister tonight, then tomorrow and Sunday we have an impromptu reunion with some of Kim’s childhood friends. After the week I’ve had, I’m ready for a big glass of sumthin’ and a few days off.

Enjoy your weekend!

    Hey Scott,

Just stumbled upon your site and listening for the first time. I think the new mike sounds good but I wonder do you have a muffle (or what ever they are called) on it? Or a screen in front of it?

I heard A LOT OF lip smacking. It’s a sound made when your tongue comes off the forward part of your mouth and you open your mouth at the same time. I used to work in radio during my college days and used to get criticized for the same thing.

You might want to listen to the first 3 or 4 minutes of this weeks show. You were doing it more there than later in the show.

Anyway, it’s not a flattering sound and you might want to try to cut it out of your, otherwise, excellent sound.

    All the best,

    USA vs. Czech Republic

This was kind of breaking news to  me.  I’m an American and as such I don’t really know jack about soccer, or as the rest of the world calls it, football.
Well now with more than a few  time zones between me and anything American, I live…
