If you’re reading this, chances are this wasn’t the apocalypse that so many crazies would have us believe it was going to be. What I did find interesting was a poll that
CNN was running online. When I checked the results of that poll 9% thought that something of epic proportion would happen today. Seriously? Some of you got up and thought “today is the end of the world?” At any rate, it did make me chuckle.
Well, since the world didn’t end and stuff, I guess you have to suffer through another show. Here it is:
- Vegas Odds on the Apocalypse – 100,000 to 1
- New Equipment/ Hard Drive Failure
- People That Can’t Say Hello
- Grandparents Order Hit on Their Next of Kin
- One Man’s Opinion (Jason’s Back!)
- The Moral Hole that is Bush
- The Vatican Throws Stones From Their Glass House
- Listener Rant: Mignon Fogarty from the Absolute Science Podcast
- Lioness Kills Man Who Invokes God
- Kim on Show #50
- American Heartbreak – Last of the Superheroes

Quality is fine as usual. That 666 stuff was good marketing for the remake of the Omen though
Anyways great show again and here is me saying HELLO!

Hi Mignon,
Nice listener rant
Out of curiosity, what town are you building your house in AZ?
June 7th, 2006 at 9:19 am
Oh and your question about the length of the show, I am not into the music but more content would be cool as you are getting more popular you could read emails, play voicemail or add more stories that could be cool, but extending it just for music I am not sure about but more AC is always good.

so, today i must say i’ve made more of an effort to make sure that i smile or say hello to others around me. I normally try, but i realized after listening today that earlier in the day that there were some people that i didn’t respond back to, for no apparent reason and they probably now think i’m a total asshole. i’m one of those people when i get on the elevator i get on and go to the back and not care if other people are getting on and let the door close, today i’ve made strides to stand close to the buttons and hold it open and ask which floor.
now…maybe something can be done about those assholes that don’t give the courtsey wave when you let them over in traffic….

I wonder… if everyone wonders why people dont smile and say hello, why dont people smile and say hello?? People always talk about us New Yorkers.. but shit, I smile at people I dont even like! Side note.. if and when I dont smile/say hello… it is because if I stop, people are going to want me to do something. And I just dont have time to do something!!
People frighten me.

scott, you rant on and frikn on about you and ur “you know” shit…get over it and move the fk on…you click the tongue to much if truth be told…you make that tttthhh real ouick like my cousin from new york does…still love the show…but really…move on…ttthhh, you know…wish the show was longer…just not your nerve tiks.
June 7th, 2006 at 12:53 pm
that’s just borderline rude…i can’t speak for Scott, but i know from previous shows that he’s brought it up because other people keep drawing attention to the fact that he’s not a perfect speaker. What the hell!! want to talk about your spelling problems? you shouldn’t rag on someone about their imperfections them not spell things correctly in the process of doing so.
(sorry Scott I know you’re a grown ass man, but that just got my panties in a bunch)
June 7th, 2006 at 3:24 pm
Emil, could you be more rude?
The show sounds a little better than before you added the new equipment
Anyway, I wouldn’t mind a longer show as I feel we need more content, it seems to go by so fast! As for more music, no thanks, I can find it myself. :p
June 8th, 2006 at 7:42 am
Emil,
My show will always be my personality…ticks and all. If there’s something you don’t like, don’t listen or fast forward past the stuff that, you know, bothers you.

Hey Scott,
I say you go an entire hour – more content not any more music tho – you f*cking rock
June 8th, 2006 at 11:51 am
Scott,
Thank you very much for responding to my comment on the show last week! It was very rewarding to know that you (and others) not only read my comments but consider them as well.
I wanted to comment on the Bush topic: I completely, utterly, 100% agree with you about Bush’s pushing the anti-gay marriage issue. I think you are right about how Bush is trying to get the super conservative right wing to the voting poles. But at the same time, I think that it pushes people like us to step up and vote against it them as well. Let’s just hope it’ll piss enough people off that we can kill this issue once and for all.
Here is my rant: I’m from Idaho… close to Utah… you can probably guess the demeanor and overall attitude here, especially about issues such as gay marriage. The thing that really angers me is that everyone here is “American through and through”. Or in other words, they are very conservative patriots. I just want to know this: Why did we come to America? What is the first amendment? What do we pride ourselves in?
FREEDOM OF RELIGION
Right wing conservatives cry out against gay marriage but they only believe that because of the Bible. Bible = Religion. Simple as that. (Also, the Bible also says we shouldn’t get divorced, but we don’t have laws against that.) Anyway, I don’t understand why people who believe in America go against it with pushing their religion. Very hypocritical if you ask me.
Thanks for listening to me! Again, love the show. Congrats to Jason and best of luck!

Yeah, seems more and more that the separation of church and state – the very reason this country was founded – is more and more a fading value. Why we are allowing it, I have no idea.
As always, great comments everyone.

I think making the show longer would be a great idea. It would be better since you could add a lot more news and a little bit more music!
June 8th, 2006 at 9:46 pm
Hi Brian,
Glad you liked the rant! We’re in Gilbert. Plenty of sun, not enough solar.
June 8th, 2006 at 11:40 pm
Hi,
Didn’t know where to post regarding your 6th June Gay marriage stuff. So here it is.
I really agree with the host that Gay marriage isn’t a big thing and shouldn’t be used as a basis for votes but then the so called “vatican” are probably worried about future where they “assume” that there would be no childrens because of legalisation of gay marriage.
Just tuned in today but the show is pretty good. Sort of opens up social taboo.
From down under,
Tim.

this is the second show i have listened too and i just want to say your show is awesome
June 12th, 2006 at 9:29 pm
Gay marriage is wrong because the bible says it is.. You either believe the bible 100% or 0%... it’s black and white.. no shades of grey… if you belive, then you have a nice place to go after you die. If you don’t belive then you dont.
and yes, you smack your lips, click your toungue whatever, way too much…
enjoy the chaos that this generates…

I am listening to Episode 48 right now and am at work. I actually laughed out loud when I hear you describing the shit smeared across the face. That was classic!! Sweet!
July 7th, 2006 at 7:37 am
First off… Emil, grow up. If you aren’t adult enough to listen and respect someones opinion, dont listen! Simple.
Scott… I am just now listening to some archived shows. Right On about the “Hello” thing. At my work, I say hello or smile at people and they just give me a blank stare. Its like WTF?? Are you alive? To me its just a respect thing… I try to be the better person. You stated its a couple reasons why people can be like this, all which are good points. I sometimes wonder if these people are just depressed or jealous that others can be warm or caring. Anyways, after about 10-20 smiles/hellos and nothing in return, I now give them nothing. Screw the rude people! By the way Scott, Good morning!
Keep up the awesome work! Love the show.

I think if most of the people that posted in this thread worked together, we’d have a friendly group. People that would say hello to each other and smile. It’s too bad we all have to work at places where Friendliness seems to be asking too much.
