Hatch
This week I got more email than I can ever remember getting in the past. Some of you sent in listener rants, lots you wrote in to sound off about teenagers (or being a teenager), and lots of you had something to say about Iran. Most of the comments seemed to either fall into an “America, Fuck Yeah” Pro Bush camp, or an opportunity to tell me how screwed up our country and government is. Unfortunately, most of you that wrote in missed my point. Whether or not you agree with our policies or you think Iran’s leader is a nutjob, you cannot deny that this letter was an opening – an opportunity – to start a dialogue between two world leaders. Instead, we told him to go screw. It’s really easy for our government to say that Iran is a rogue state and cast them aside, but that only exacerbates the situation we find ourselves in. We missed an opportunity.

Anyhoo, let’s get into this week’s show:

  • Flooding in New England
  • Jason’s Schedule
  • TV Season
  • Man Told to Pay Up for Failed Suicide
  • Molested Teen Jailed for Own Safety?
  • Dirtbag of the Week: Richard Hatch
  • My Space Bong Gets Student Busted
  • Mighty Minute
  • Online Radio for Dogs
  • Danko Jones – First Date

    theamericancliche@gmail.com ?

You talk about students in marijuana possesion.

It’s ok for Artists like, let’s imagine CArlos SAntana or Willie Nelson, not for teenagers.

I have good times listening your radio station

  3. Nick Omahen Says:

Hey not to be rude at all to you Roger Leos but this show is called AMERICAN I Repeat AMERICAN cliche our laws here in America are differant, such ass We arent aloud to smoke pot no matter what age with out a precription. Not saying because your from another country that there is something that should keep you from listening to the show believe me I dont want scott mad at me but you have to realize when you say marijuana is ok for artists and not for teens on an American blog about an American show you should probably remember the things that you can do that we cant ( like smoke weed) But aside from that subject, Great show scott! I must say that I’m addicted, the show is totally differant from all the other shows and I love it. Let me put it this way Have you ever caught your self watching an infomercial about a product you would never buy but for some reason you just keep watching and watching? I do it all the time it’s because you get addicted for no apparent reason and you change the channel after so many moments and think WOW that was weird why was I wathing that but in a way you dont realy care because there was something you liked about it that kept you watching and that means you were happy and happiness doesnt need a reason or explanation so in short scott….......your show is like an infomercial, we dont know why we take time out of our stressed worryied depressed lives to listen to you babble but it makes us happy and turns us away from it all while we listen to shit that is happening in other peoples lives, we listen to the stress and responsibility’s they have to deal with and subliminaly I think we recieve that message that tells us ” hey your not the only one whos got shit to deal with” even if it’s not printed in black and white in the title. I am still trying to figure out why I bother to listen to your show but I think I am just going to conclude that it shuts me off for about a hal hour and keeps me from thinking making it the best show of them all. thanks scott keep up the good work. In return basicly I just keep listening and I tell people about your show How does that sound?

  4. Scott Says:

Actually Nick, this show is for anyone, anywhere in the world to enjoy. Just like you have a right to express your opinion, so do others.

As for the show, being a babbling infomercial…I think you were complimenting me, but it was a backhanded compliment at best….so ummm…thanks.

  5. Roger Leos Says:

    Well, Nick:
I hope not to be rude anymore, but I think and you we all know America is a continent not just a nation. So, anxiety for possesion seems to be inconscious every time US citizens talk about American think…
Are we a Union like Europe ?
So let’s shape a brotherhood rather than build walls and send your troops to the border.
I respect “American” laws and disagree illegal inmigration.
I have been a big part of my life un the US and have never violated any law. I love US. Please don’t feel slapped.

SCOTT: keep your sarcasm, I Understand the cliché.
    Great work
    best wishes from Mexico

  6. Mike Beckham Says:

Umm good show. I don’t know what is going on with the comments Scott. Apparently popularity leads to this?

    Anyways good show again.

  7. Scott Says:

    Greetings Mike!

I was actually thinking about you this morning. I hadn’t heard from you in awhile and wondered how the Ploycast was doing?

Yeah, the comments have been, how shall we say…. active(?) as of late. I guess when the number of listeners go up, more comments come in. I am enjoying the interaction!

    Best,
    Scott

  8. Mike Beckham Says:

The PloyCast is going well. We have been doing some special outside stuff lately.

Now to get our listener base up and get some wacky comments ;)

  9. Nick Omahen Says:

I was talking about marijuana Roger not illigeal immigration I take what Scott said to heart and yes you have the right to your own opinion but I guess I am not shure if it is acceptable to say weed is okay for some people and not for others that would be like me saying America was for some but not others…that would be wrong of course and I respect you as a person and dido to the fact that I dont want you to feel slapped but I guess I didn’t feel comfertable with you talking about how weed is okay ( wich is funny cuz I dont get offended easily ) Yeah Scott I guess maby I was a Little harsh but just know that I love your show a whole whole lot and I guess I’m just tryiing to figure out why? keep up the good work and that song first date was pretty cool too! :-)

  10. Roger Leos (once again) Says:

I am having funny times reading and posting here. I hope to be friendly to you all. I don’t smoke and don’t try but pot is older than cockroaches, older than maybe the fishes in the water.
I wonder if the whole thing we are has come from an asteroid collision including the very first marijuana weed on the Earth. Otherwise, some may think God has created it all so, how bad could it be if we have not invented the laws?

    Great Show.. including this blog.
I got a phone call from New York city today. Good friends worldwide.
God bless America and the rest of the world.
Where will we go if we were not here ?
Save the planet. Let’s be friends.

  11. Nick Omahen Says:

I’m not even going to say anything I’m just going to listen to the podcast and post only one comment on the blog there seems to be drama forming way to easy ;-)
