Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Irish
This is one of those holidays where I long to be back in my hometown area of Boston. There, St. Patty’s Day is a huge tradition. In fact, lots of my friends take the day off from work and spend the day at their favorite pubs. Even though I am at work today, I do plan to head out this afternoon/evening and grab a few pints with some friends. State Street in Santa Barbara may not quite be Boston on St. Patrick’s Day, but I think we’ll make due.

As for the whole wearing green thing…I usually get shit each year for not doing so. Most of time I simply forget and it’s too late by the time I’m getting razzed about it at work. This year I am ablaze in my dark green Puma’s and a green and gray zippy. So, I stroll into the office today feeling all full of the Irish spirit and my good friend Andrew, who is from England, tells me that in Ireland they don’t wear green on St. Patrick’s Day and that it’s just an American thing. Is that true? Either was it appears you can’t win. My advice – go out to a fine Irish pub and have a few beers with your friends.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all.
