Since I started American Cliche, I have never made any excuses for it. It is what it is. If you like it, great. If it’s not your cup o’ tea, then move on. Either way, I have always been proud of the work that I do. This week I do feel compelled to say something about episode #37. As I was prepping it, I had a feeling that it was going to be a trainwreck. I thought “I’m gonna forget to hit record, or the system is going to crash, or I’m going to mis-cue an audio bit”....something. Well, the technical side came through fine. However, after listening to the show after it was posted, I can’t help but feel that I was off this week. Some would argue that I’m “off” EVERY week, but that’s another story altogether. Anyway, I can’t put my finger on what was going on, I can just hope that next week I’m on surer footing.

I started doing this show in July and with the exception of one week in October where I was too sick to talk, I have not missed a week. Sometimes I have bad days. Sometimes I’m not as succint or as eloquent as I’d like to be. Sometimes the material for a particular show isn’t as strong or as engaging as I’d like it to be. Then there are the weird weeks where I think a show is going to be mediocre and it ends up being one of my better shows. This week the stars just didn’t align.

Maybe this posting is unecessary. I just feel that you guys deserve my very best effort and the very best results. I gave my best effort this week, but the results were lacking. I will try and do better next week.
